Winemaking: Organic Sylvaner grapes were harvested by hand. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeast after long, slow press of 6 hours. Aged on full lees in old barrels until bottling. No fining or filtration and just a touch of added sulphur.

This Wine: The second vintage of this cuvée from Yann using the underrated Sylvaner grape which is indigenous to Alsace and Germany. Easy drinking but with some complex layers of flavours including quince, orange, lemon and elderflower. Great value. 

Notes on the Winemaker: The Durrmann family make wine in the village of Andlau on the slopes of Vosges mountains in Alsace. The vineyards have been organic since 1998 and sulphur free cuvees have been produced since 2007 after Yann (the son) took over running the winery.
